Quiet, Easy Installation. Oct 16, 2016

This was my first mini-split installation, and it was time consuming but easy. The system is very quiet while running, easily have a conversation standing next to it and I can't hear it standing around the corner of the building, 10' away. The installation is on a semi-secluded lake cottage with only nature for ambient noise, it is that quiet. The indoor units (-18 and -09 wall mounts and 2 -09? floor mounts) are also very quiet in cooling mode. I have not tested heating mode. Notes for the... more

A Great Little Fan Jul 15, 2016

I bought this in-line fan to pump warm air into a chase containing hot and cold water pipes. When outdoor temperatures drop below 15 degrees Fahrenheit, the air in the chase falls below freezing, so I was worried that the pipes would freeze. This little fan together with flex duct (I stripped away the outer insulation) solved the problem. Big Leak And Needed Replacing After 2.5 Years! Mar 30, 2016

We had this water heater (Amtrol Hydromax HM-80) installed as part of a remodel in Dec 2013. Over the weekend (end of June 2016) it started a fountain out of the top and was getting everything around it soaked. Called service Monday morning, they said, yup, seen this before. Needs full replacement which is covered by the 7 year warranty however, their labor at $700 is NOT covered. I'm pissed. Also questioning what better brand we should buy. We like the hydronic panel radiator. We are heating a 12' x 16' room. The radiator keeps the room nice and warm when its -20 degress out side.
